Waitakere College Inspiring Inventors!!!

On Thursday room 7, room 4, room 10 and room 22 went to the presentation room. We went because Whaea Sandra's daughter and her company had something to share with us. They shared their 2 in 1 twist easy toothbrush. They shared how they got the idea. There were 6 people in the company, there was 1 boy and 5 girls. They told us that it was for kids and people that travel a lot around the world. They said "If you want one it is $15 and if you want two, it's $25". They said "it's made of plastic". They said there was only one "2 in 1" twist easy in the world and they are going to bring 200 to Pomaria School. The Waitakere College students made a design of the "2 in 1 twist easy" and sent the design to Korea. The kids designed it but Korea made it.  Then we got to touch the "2 in 1 twist easy". We had a great time there.

Goal Setting - Meet the Teachers Evening

Wow what an amazing turn out of parents this evening!
It was so good to see your parents to talk about your goals and discussing the New Zealand Curriculum Standards in both Numeracy and Reading.

Thank you to all those that could make it tonight!

The Writing Corner

Writing is a lot of fun…especially if you have something to write about.
We have been learning to use images to think creatively and write stories.

One fine and sunny morning, my family went to the beach.  The waves were huge and high.  I had never seen such big waves in my life.  So, I took a swim in the shallow waters. As I was taking a dip, I saw this young teenager riding the waves on his surf board.  I was so amazed and wished that one day I would be able to do the same and maybe to compete in competitions and win some medals.
